Gran parte de nuestras acciones están orientadas a obtener recompensas o evitar daños. Para ello, necesitamos tener memoria de nuestro entorno, evaluar los costos y beneficios de nuestras acciones y ser capaces de medir el tiempo para ejecutarlas en el momento preciso. Así, nuestro cerebro nos permite actuar de la manera correcta en el momento indicado. En el laboratorio buscamos comprender los mecanismos neuronales fundamentales que subyacen a estas diversas funciones cognitivas. Para ello, registramos la actividad neuronal mientras los roedores realizan diversos paradigmas comportamentales.
Most of our actions are oriented towards obtaining rewards or avoiding harm. To achieve this, we need to remember our environment, evaluate the costs and benefits of our actions, and be able to measure time to execute them at the precise moment. Thus, our brain allows us to act in the right way at the right time. In the laboratory, we seek to understand the fundamental neural mechanisms underlying these diverse cognitive functions. To this end, we record neural activity while rodents perform various behavioral paradigms.

Para ello desarrollamos distintos paradigmas comportamentales en roedores y registramos su actividad neuronal de manera simultanea.
